What is a cage fight?

Cage fighting, also known as mixed martial arts (MMA), is a full-contact combat sport that allows a wide variety of fighting techniques, including striking and grappling. It takes place inside a chain-link enclosure called a cage, which provides a controlled environment for the fighters to compete in.

Cage fights typically consist of three to five minute rounds, with fighters using a combination of striking techniques (such as punching, kicking, and knee strikes) and grappling techniques (such as wrestling, judo, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) to try to defeat their opponent. The fights can end by knockout, submission, or judges' decision.

Cage fighting has gained popularity worldwide, with organizations such as the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) leading the way in promoting and organizing high-profile events. The sport requires a high level of physical fitness, skill, and mental toughness, making it a challenging and intense competition for all involved.
